Ever since the creation of Mintd box last July (happy anniversary Mintd) they have come out with a new globally-on-trend subscription box every month. Unlike other beauty boxes out there Mintd Beauty boxes consist of only premium and luxury brands, which are stocked through sites like Space NK, Selfridges, Style.com and Beauty Expert. If you are someone like myself who holds that Quality over Quantity rule, then Mintd Box really has your name all over it.
I have been lucky over the years to have been sent many beauty subscription boxes, but sadly most have been a bit of a miss with just one decent product. So many of them bombard us all over social media with hyped-up mediocre quality products, therefore upon receiving they have failed my expectations and i stopped purchasing beauty boxes. As i dont just purchase products to review, but i have the hope that i will discover something new and continue to love it and share with you guys. But then i finally discovered Mintd Box, a luxurious British beauty subscription box that actually speaks to me on a personal level. Unlike other boxes with what seems like mostly sample sizes, Mintd box offer around 4-8 generous full size and luxury travel size products. A mix of premium skincare, makeup and haircare products. I will admit at first i did gulp a little at the £65 price tag, but if you break down the price of each product individually (as i have done for you in this post) it really does end up being worth your while with the money that you save. Could i personally afford to buy a Mintd Box every month? Probably not, but it does make the nice occasional splurge. Following their social media handles helps you to see which box is coming out each month, so it helps you to decide if its worth investing in…..
At Mintd box we aim to inspire & encourage women from all walks of life to own their presence, reveal their inner beauty through experimentation and discovery of new luxury beauty brands. We believe that every women deserves to feel confident and in control of her day
Each month you can expect to receive a perfectly packaged box tailored to fit your lifestyle, and of course help fix your beauty obsession. Each month the box is exquisitely packaged in a luxurious white box and wrapped with a bow in perfect precision (i must admit that this does satisfy my ocd tendencies lol). Mintd Box just oozes sophistication, thoughtfulness and class. I really respect a company that takes their time to make sure the entire experience from beginning to end is special.
One thing I really like about Mintd Beauty Boxes is that each box has its own unique theme to compliment that month, giving a unique twist to the ‘traditional’ beauty box. This months box is called the Spring Clean box because Spring isn’t just for cleaning up your home, it’s for spring cleaning all aspects of your life including your skincare routine. So say Goodbye to dry, dull lacklustre skin and hello to gorgeously glowing, fresh-looking healthy skin.
This particular box contained 3 full-size products and 1 travel size product with a retail value of £186. Saving you a whopping £121
Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream | Full-Size 48g – Retail Value of £40 / $49
The Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream is an innovative, deeply hydrating probiotic multivitamin for your skin. Helping your skin to maintain a healthy complexion from day to night. Tula claims that it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve your skin’s suppleness over time. As I have no wrinkles I cannot comment on this. Suitable for all skin types and ages, it’s especially beneficial for those with dehydrated skin, seeking much-needed hydration as well as having reparative anti-ageing benefits. Not many moisturisers agree with my sensitive, easily congested skin. Often when I test out a face cream, I can tell during the first week of use if it works for my skin or not. This is because I usually experience reactive breakouts within the first 9 days of use. My skin, however, loves this! It absorbs very quickly into the skin leaving it feeling soothed, and looking more plump and youthful. I like that the texture of the moisturiser is lightweight enough for daytime wear, yet rich enough to help regenerate the skin at night too, without leaving a greasy or tacky residue behind. Despite lathering lot’s of sunscreen over my body, after 3 hours or watching my kid’s sports day in the sun I got terrible sunburn. This cream really helped to soothe it and cool down the heat quickly. After using consecutively over the sunburn for a few days I experienced no skin peeling at all.

Su-Man Skincare Velvet Skin Brightening Serum | Full Size 30ml – Retail Value of £90
I was extremely happy when I spotted one of my favourite face serums in this months beauty box! The Su-Man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum made it into my Best of 2016 beauty favourites and graced my previous blog and instagram quite a bit. The £90 price tag is not exactly cheap but is worth every penny. In fact it has been reduced from £98 down to £90. The Su-man serum is an innovative, silky-smooth essence serum-hybrid. That is designed to help deliver intense hydration, a boost of radiance and nourishment and comfort leaving the skin feeling velvety soft. Described by Elle magazine as liquid rose petals it leaves my skin feeling smoother than a babies bottom. The premium serum blend is packed full of antioxidants, omegas, hyaluronic acid, traexamic acid, ceramides and dragons blood extract (which is a Chinese plant not a real dragon btw lol). Over time it promises to help diminish the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Despite this containing fragrance, it doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It really is a lovely anti-ageing elixir for a firmer and brighter complexion. For those sensitive to strong fragrance you will be happy to know that this is almost scentless, with a slight hint of rose. I know this is not in everyone’s price range, but I personally choose to invest in my serums as they are the most effective.

Oilixia Australian Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser | Full size 75ml – Retail Value of £24
I heard of this brand briefly though Express News (see here) but it wasn’t until I received this beauty box I learnt the concepts and ethics behind the brand and its passion for the laid back natural beauty of Australia. The likes of Lisa Eldridge (see here), and The Beauty Shortlist have raved about this cleanser, and they have received numerous awards. Though inspired by Australia, Oilixia is actually a British brand, made here in the UK. They use little known ingredients and natural oils with well-known skin benefits from all around the world, especially favouring Australia. The Oilixia Kakadu Plum Gummy Facial Cleanser features Kakadu plum extract, which is known in Australia’s Kimberley region as one of the best natural resources of vitamin C. It’s incredibly rich in phenolic acid (polyphenol) and helps to gently exfoliate for a smoother and a brighter appearance. Other ingredients include Almond, Apricot and Macadamia oils to help nourish and condition the skin. Along with Eucalyptus which has fantastic antibacterial properties, and is also where it gets its menthol scent from. The texture and scent of this really reminds me of Vicks vapor rub, though thankfully a little milder in scent. It really is like no cleanser I’ve ever tried before with its unusual gummy, tacky-like texture. Apply a small amount to the face and neck, pressing it in until it turns tacky (this helps to lift off impurities). Then apply a tiny amount of water to emulsify, and rinse away. Skin is left feeling really clean, refreshed and balanced. If you have oily and congested skin, I highly recommend this cleanser. The texture of the cleanser is something to get used to, but i will say that it’s a fun experience. This product from the brand excited me so much that I’m now lusting after their Amazonian Cacay Facial Oil next.

Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques | Travel Size ( 4 Masks ) – Retail Value of £24 / $30
The Patchology SmartMud No Mess Mud Masques offer an innovative take on the traditional mud mask. No more dipping your finger into a pot and messily applying all over your face. The Patchology mud masks are inspired by Korean sheet masks, but instead of being an essence or serum soaked mask, its enriched in a clarifying mud solution. A combination of Korean jeju volcanic ash, bentonite clay and kaolin to help purify and remove impurities from the skin. You get all the benefits of a mud mask but without the messy sink, flaking or tightness. The actual sheet mask comes in two parts, which makes it ideal to suit an array of different face shapes. It can be a little messy and awkward to apply, as the sheet comes in between 2 plastic sheets. Peel off the white plastic first, then apply the mud side to the skin, then remove the clear layer. It is a little fidgety to do, but the thin texture makes it easy to put into place, your hands will get a little messy though. The material of the mask itself reminds me of gauze used on body casts, very unusual. The mask has a very subtle floral and herbal scent, that I can only describe as delightful. I leave the mask on my face for around 10 minutes, during this time a slight tingle can be felt as it works its magic. After I rinse my face with warm water, my skin is left purified, clear and smooth. Each time I use this I notice a huge difference with sebum reduction and the appearance of smaller looking pores. You can see my in depth review of this mask here.
