Summer Holiday Beauty Prep with Mintd Box

The aim of the ‘Holiday Beauty Prep’ box is about getting your body summer ready. Leaving your skin renewed, refreshed and glowing from head to toe ready for the warm days to follow, where more skin is on show. This particular box might not be one that intrigues everyone like the previous boxes couple of boxes before, especially if you are most interested in facial skincare products. However i personally have really enjoyed all of the products in this box, and will definitely be repurchasing a few of them when they are used up. I received this box a little later than usual and i always like to try every product out before sharing my opinion, but better late than never i say.

At Mintd box we aim to inspire & encourage women from all walks of life to own their presence, reveal their inner beauty through experimentation and discovery of new luxury beauty brands. We believe that every women deserves to feel confident and in control of her day.

You can view my previous Mintd Box reviews here. This box features 4 full sized products and 1 deluxe size sample. The box retails for £65 and has a value is £183 saving you a huge total of £118 off of the retail value. Also with the purchase of 3 consecutive boxes in a row, Mintd are giving away a special gift (view here) that retails for a whopping £104!!  So lets take a look at what wonderful goodies that were inside this box shall we……

Miller Harris Lumiere Doree Body Wash | Full Size 250ml – £24

What better way to start prepping your body than a body wash. This particular body wash is by Miller Harris, a small niche, London-based perfumery brand. Or atleast it was small until Michelle Obama helped the 10 year old brand to get more exposure worldwide, after she was generously gifted some of their miniature pure-wax candles by Samantha Cameron. Suddenly with the massive business boom, and retailers like Feel Unique, Net-a-Porter and Selfridges shipping Miller Harris products worldwide, their products became accessible for all who wanted to dabble in a little of their luxury products. Though Miller Harris is a brand mostly known for their beautiful candles (see here), they actually create an array of beautiful perfume-based products. From perfumes and body lotions, to body washes and body scrubs,  with fragrance being the foundation of the brand and the heart and soul of everything they create. Every small detail comes from one very passionate and driven woman Lyn Harris. The name ‘Miller Harris’ actually comes from the combination of her father’s middle name (Miller) and her own Surname (Harris). Lyn a true connoisseur for aromas loves the simplicity of raw materials and has been known to wait ages for a new crop to become available. In a commercial world where the packaging is often designed before the scent is even created, all of Lyn’s products are created the opposite way, coming from the heart, using her own personal raw emotions. She will recreate any specific memory, or picture in her head through her products. Its pretty amazing! She knows that luxury perfume is an elite business (a bespoke perfume from her will set you back a shocking £8,000) but she wanted to create everyday luxuries with a price point that can be affordable for all, rather than just that once a year special occasion treat.

It was love at first whiff of the Lumiere Doree Body Wash! Similar to my experience with the Elemental Herbology Bath Oil which has been a multiple repurchase ever since. The texture of the cleansing gel is lightweight yet rich enough to completely cover the skin like a hydrating blanket of silk. Despite it containing SLS i experience no dryness, my skin is left nourished, invigorated and cleansed after every wash. It is the most perfect, luxurious uplifting, and refreshing morning wake-me-up shower companion. I can safy say that this has been a firm favourite all summer. The unique scent is almost identical to the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, only a touch sweeter and definitely more refined. Those who like the EH balm scent will love this! Now i am lusting after the Perfume and the Body Lotion, i also very much enjoy the Hand Cream. I hope one day they will have a candle in this scent. I really am fond of how much love and passion goes into each and every Miller Harris creation and i will continue to support this lovely brand for many years to come. The delightful and unique scents along with the chic packaging also makes the products wonderful gifts, and i am happy to display any Miller Harris product in my bathroom.

Soveral Mandarin Kiss Lip Restore Balm | Full Size 15ml – £17

Mintd Box have been on a roll with their lip balm products recently. Soveral is a brand i have heard very little about, besides a few rave reviews on their award winning face oils (i hope to try one day). Starting out with their lip balm has gone really well for me, because if i brand can master a fantastic lip balm then i’m much more trusting to splurge on one of their pricier products. This lip balm is everything i wanted the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm to be. Though that balm seems to work miracles for everyone, it just didn’t for me. The texture is almost identical, only the Soveral mandarin kiss lip balm has a very delicate sweet mandarin-like scent to it, and of course cleaner ingredients. Unlike the Nuxe the Soveral lip balm helps to restore my dry and extremely-sensitive chapped lips (plus its cruelty free, bonus). Packed full of nourishing mango and cocoa butter it really helps to restore and protect dry lips. I have used it everyday since receiving it and will definitely be repurchasing when it is all used up. If their lip balm is anything to go by, then i am super excited to try more by this brand.

Soveral is a British luxury skincare brand founded back in 2005 and are known for their clean and organic products. Creating a beautiful harmony of natural ingredients, combined with cutting-edge science. To bring us the purest and finest products possible. Founded by facialist and aromatherapist Alexandra Soveral (the perfumier and cosmetic formulator of the brand) and Jorj Aleem (who creates the concepts and defines of how the products will be presented), they are the perfect duo. After years of being in the industry Alexandra became very aware of how ‘irresponsible science’ was being used within the skincare industry. Where it was more about money and the cheapest production, she decided to combine her knowledge of science with her passion for natural skincare and set up her own little research lab. Researching into natural raw ingredients and their benefits on our health. After 4 years of research she made her dream of an Organic skincare line a reality. Alexandra personally picks all of the ingredients used within the products and hand blends each and every item herself from their original ‘raw state’ to the finished products we see on the shelves.  Delivering the true language of nature. Unlike many brands today who concentrate too much on ‘false claims’ to help their products to sell, Soveral don’t make any fancy marketing claims to try and trick the consumer into purchasing. Instead choosing to base their marketing on what true results their products achieve.

Ingredients: Vitis vinefera (Grapeseed) oil, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Cera alba (beeswax), Mangifera indica (Mango) seed butter, Citrus reticulata (mandarin) peel oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf extract, Limonene*, Geraniol*, Linalool*. *Natural constituent of essential oil listed.

Kahina Giving Beauty Essaouira Body Serum | Deluxe Size 30ml – £32/$32 (Full size £85/$98)

Another product i fell deeply in love with. Housed within Kahina Givings’ signature black miron glass packaging, you would be fooled into thinking that this body oil is like every other out there. With Kahina giving products you can expect beautiful top-quality, natural and organic ingredients. All of the ingredients are 100% natural and 97% of the ingredients are Organic. Miron glass is not only aesthetically pleasing and chic, but its purpose is to help protect the ingredients inside. Therefor providing a purely organic product without the use of preservatives like alcohol or parabens to extend their shelf life. Another great quality is the pump feature as this makes for great convenience and less mess. The formula itself is rich in vitamin E which helps to replenish and restore dry skin. Consisting of a high concentration of pure Argan oil to help to improve the skins elasticity and texture, while also soothing any redness. Watermelon Seed oil, Sunflower oil, Olive oil and Coconut oil help to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin. While the blend of pure steam distilled essential oils like Lavender, Rose and Sandalwood provide the aromatherapy benefits, leaving your skin smelling beautifully fresh, combining sophisticated floral-notes with a hint of exotic woodiness. Kahina Giving Beauty claim that this oil compliments the spring and summer months perfectly, though i personally feel that i could use this all year round. It can be applied to both wet and dry skin. In the mornings i will apply to my damp skin after a shower and at night i mix in with my Aerin Rose de Grasse Body Cream.  I like that it absorbs really easily into the skin without leaving any greasiness or tacky residue behind. I have extremely dry legs and sensitive skin, and this really has helped combat the dryness and reduced any itchiness. My skin glows every time i apply this, whether in its natural state or tanned. Though the full size of this oil is £85 i would be happy enough to splurge on this as a yearly birthday treat to myself. I will go into more detail about the founder Katharine in a future blogpost once i have purchased and reviewed a couple more of her products i am lusting after.

Ingredients: argania spinosa (argan) oil*, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil*, caprylic/capric triglyceride, ocos nucifera (coconut) nut oil*, citrullus lanatus (watermelon) seed oil, pelargonium graveolens (geranium) leaf/flower oil*, rosa damascena (rose) flower oil*, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower oil*, santalum spicatum (sandalwood) wood oil, tanacetum annuum flower oil*, citrus aurantium (petitgrain bigarade) leaf/bud oil, bisabolol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract* *Ingredient from Organic Farming

Patchology Posh Peel Pedicure (2 Treatments) | Full Size -£32 / $35 (or $20 for a single treatment)

I am probably the worse at caring for my feet, which is such a shame since i take such good care of my upper body and face. I have really dry feet, but worse i have a condition that makes me break out in red blisters all over my feet when i get stressed, or my inflammatory bowel disease flares up. I actually find myself becoming quite self conscious about getting my feet out as i actually find it gets worse when they are exposed. I have been a fan of foot-peel sock treatments for a while, and i always use one at the beginning and end of winter every year. They really do work and it can be a little scary seeing all the dead skin coming off on your feet, but the scare is worth it for the clean, fresh baby skin feet that will surface. You will want to show them off to the world. I still have not used these as i am waiting until the end of summer, when my feet are less sensitive. The Patchology Posh Peel Pedicure treatments consist of 2 pairs of socks and 4 tubes of solution (1 for each sock). The solution contains a mixture of AHA’s & BHAs in the form of Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic and Fruit acids to help chemically exfoliate. Simply pour 1 treatment into each socks, sit back relaxing watching some tv or read a book for a good 30 minutes (though you can walk around in them too), then simply rinse away the solution in the shower to neutralise the peel. With foot peels you will see some of the skin come away, but please keep in mind that its a process, and skin will keep coming away gradually over a few day period (can take up to a week), revealing healthier looking feet. I must admit i always find these feet masks fun to use and I’m optimistic i will enjoy this as i have enjoyed the other products from Patchology i have tried. I am a huge fan of their SmartMud No Mess Mud masks and use one every few weeks.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Alcohol Denat, Alcohol, Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Panthenol, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum).

Lauren B. Beauty Botanical Nail Treatment | Full Size – £78/$100

Lauren has always been passionate about nail polish and after years of practicing on her grandmother as a child, she decided to set up a salon from her own garage at the tender age of 15. With her passion Lauren ended up working in the beauty industry and decided to turn her addiction into her dream job. After multiple experiences in the field of luxury beauty, Lauren finally started her own line of nail polish Lauren B. Beauty. Paying particular attention to creating easy to apply, long-lasting nail polishes. Apparently her nail polishes are so refined that they are being named ‘nail couture’ and can expect a manicure to last for a good two weeks! I mean wow! I am going to have to try. I have a bad habit of biting the dry skin around my nails, it’s an impulse from anxiety (i have adhd) that i have done my whole life. The Lauren B Beauty Botanical Nail Treatment comes with 2 wand applicators. One being a nail growth serum and the other is a nail and cuticle balm. The growth serum has what looked like an eyeliner brush tip and is applied from the cuticle to the tip of the nail and helps to repair damaged brittle nails. I am pretty lucky that my nails are strong, but they can be a little brittle at the ends sometimes. So i have really enjoyed rubbing this into the ends of my nails in the evenings. I’ve noticed that it has helped strengthen them and given them a beautiful healthy shine.  The nail and cuticle balm helps to hydrate and restore dry, parched cuticles. Despite being a lightweight oil it is non-greasy, and the pen click applicator makes it travel friendly and perfect for using throughout the day when out and about for touch ups. I have used the treatments a handful of times now as part of my Sunday pampering treatment.
